‘Choose a publisher that understands who you are who gets what you’re trying to do’

What should budding authors look for in a publisher?

Much as it’s tempting to say, ‘The desire to pay you shed loads of money,’ the truth is that money isn’t the most important thing. The most important thing you should look for in a publisher is one that understands who you are who gets what you’re trying to do. The publisher who understands your vision is more likely to be supportive if things don’t work out straight away and be more willing to allow you time to get where you want to go.
