The Changing Histories series is a brilliant resource to support great History teaching. The focus on stories and vivid descriptions of period and place create memorable moments for students that really support historical understanding and, what's more, a love, interest and curiosity about the past. The content is both diverse and comprehensive, ranging from stories about Medieval Africa and Norman Sicily to learning about traditional topics like the Black Death and Elizabeth I in a unique and innovative way. The inclusion of historians who help to shape the narrative, and their appearance in not only the books but also the accompanying Boost digital resources, helps students to really engage with proper and relevant historical scholarship. This new storytelling-centred curriculum will be fantastic for engaging students and encouraging them to continue their study of History at GCSE and beyond. Changing Histories is, quite simply, a must-have resource for all History teachers.

The Changing Histories series is beautifully crafted, weaving a diverse quilt of stories to captivate KS3 students with impeccable historical scholarship. I was drawn by the huge range of stories contained here, from Chenggis Khan's anda oath with his childhood friend, to Martin Luther's first angry responses to the Catholic Church. The easy, accessible style of writing means that all students can engage with the series and with history, whatever their level. The additional Boost package is so impressive; there is such a wealth of teacher resources here from podcasts to curriculum plans, to guidelines for how the series meets Ofsted requirements. Changing Histories will be invaluable for any school - I cannot wait for my department to start using it.
Literacy is one of our big Ofsted targets and the focus on stories and reading rich text in Changing Histories will help us to make real progress in this area. I'm equally impressed with the accompanying Boost digital teaching and learning resources. Packed full of resources including videos of historians discussing topics in the book and planning and teaching videos with the textbook authors, Boost offers fantastic value for money.

This series is a must have for all History departments. The story approach is a power tool in the History teacher toolkit. These accessible and inclusive stories build drama, suspense and transport pupils back to the time and place being studied. The images and carefully designed pages work fantastically well with the text, helping to build an immersive world for pupils to study and enjoy.
